Ko Tāne-nui-ā-rangi tēnei, e tū ana kei te marae o Te Herenga Waka i te whare wānanga o Wikitōria i Te Whanganui-a-Tara. He tipuna nui whakaharahara a Tāne nō te Māori. Nā Tāne a Rangi rāua ko Papa i wehe, nāna anō hoki i pokepoke te tangata tuatahi ki tēnei ao. Kei ētahi iwi te kōrero, i kake a Tāne ki ngā rangi tūhāhā kia riro mai ngā kete o te wānanga, arā, te kete tuauri, te kete tuatea, te kete aronui, hei painga mō te tangata.
