Tantrix, 2005

These young people are shown in 2005 playing Tantrix, a game using hexagonal tiles. It was invented by Christchurch games shop owner Mike McManaway in 1988 and originally called Mind Game. Many alternative online and physical versions were later developed. Playing Tantrix online has gained a dedicated international following, with players competing against each other or against computer programs. By 2012 there were six world, three continental and at least 33 national online or face-to-face Tantrix tournaments.
