Cutting the cake again

Cutting the cake again

Alex and Kathy Scott cut their 50th wedding anniversary cake in 2012, beside a photograph of them cutting their wedding cake in 1962. Like many couples interviewed on these occasions, they were asked what makes for an enduring marriage. In their view, it is tolerance, unconditional love and forgiveness. Alex told the Manawatu Standard, 'True love is wanting the best for your significant other, even if it's not what you want.' Kathy added, 'You have to get rid of that anger sometimes and forgive each other.'
