He kāinga o Ngāti Awa a Rangitāiki. E anga whakateuru ana tēnei whakaahua, ko te awa o Whakatāne kei mua. Ko Ōpihi te one kei waenganui, e mōhiotia ana ki a Ngāti Awa ko ‘Ōpihi whanaunga kore’. He urupā tawhito tēnei ki a Ngāti Awa.
