Tasting pinot noir

Tasting pinot noir

Around 100 New Zealand-made pinot noirs were offered for tasting at the third triennial New Zealand pinot noir celebration, in Wellington in 2007. Only a few growers planted pinot noir vines in the 1980s, but it has gained a good reputation in cooler regions. Plantings have increased substantially since the mid-1990s, in the Wairarapa and the South Island.
