Whanganui Māori and the Moutoa flag (2nd of 3)

Whanganui Māori and the Moutoa flag

Whanganui women settlers made a 2.5-metre-long white silk flag to present to local Māori at the unveiling of the memorial to the defenders at Moutoa Island. This photograph was probably taken soon after, in late 1865.
