Te Horotaraipi meeting house

Te Horotaraipi meeting house

The Te Horotaraipi meeting house, at Tini Waitara marae on the Turakina River, dates back to the late 19th century. Although its full name, Te Horotaraipi o Ngāti Apa, means ‘the whole tribe of Ngāti Apa’, today the marae and meeting house are administered and maintained by several families of the Ngā Ariki sub-tribe.
