Black swan on nest
Black swans make a nest by piling up long vegetation, usually within 100 metres of water. Some nest in isolation while others form colonies – in either case they defend their nest fiercely. Adults take turns to incubate the eggs, and lead the newly hatched cygnets to water to feed.
