Story: Wellington region
The City Gallery Wellington was established in 1980 as a non-collecting, exhibition-based gallery. In 1993 it moved into the former Wellington Public Library in Civic Square. It is managed by the Wellington Museums Trust, which also runs the Museum of Wellington City and Sea, Wellington Cable Car Museum and several other small museums.
