Emblem of the coast

Kapiti Island has become an emblem for the Kapiti district. Its dark, jagged outline forms the background to this painting, ‘People and the land’, by Raumati artist Bodhi Vincent. The work was commissioned in 1993 by the Kapiti Coast District Council, and hangs in the council chambers.
