Story: Weeds of agriculture
Like gorse, Scotch thistle (Cirstium vulgare) grows almost anywhere. It is common in pastures, orchards, crops, gardens, lawns and waste areas. It spreads by windborne seed, and establishes itself especially where drought has made the land bare.
