This table lists New Zealand’s record rainfalls over periods ranging from 10 minutes to one year. The records cover most of the 20th century. The Hokitika catchment on the West Coast has very high rainfall. Further east, Cape Campbell and Alexandra in Central Otago are the driest areas.
