Story: Walking tracks

Clinton Hut (3rd of 3)

Clinton Hut

By 1895, with the track cut and huts built, parties such as this were regularly walking the Milford Track. These tourists are leaving the Clinton Hut, which at that stage was the start of the track. A man at the door is holding a box for carrier pigeons, used to communicate with Te Anau village.
