Maunga Moria church
Shortly before his death in 1881, the leader and prophet Pāora Te Pōtangaroa predicted a new church would come to meet the needs of Māori. Since then, several churches have claimed to fulfil the prophecy, including the Church of the Seven Rules of Jehovah. This is the opening of the sect’s Maunga Moria church at Homewood, near Castlepoint, around 1900.
