Fishing at Lake Ferry

Fishing at Lake Ferry

A group prepares for a fishing trip at Lake Ferry, around the 1920s. The coastal settlement, at the mouth of Lake Ōnoke, is still a popular spot for surfcasting. Lake Ōnoke remains an important Māori eel fishery, although eel numbers have decreased considerably.
