Story: Wading birds

Crushed dotterel

Crushed dotterel

Nesting shore birds are vulnerable to vehicles driving along shores, dunes and riverbeds. This dotterel has been crushed by the wheel of a four-wheel-drive vehicle, a common fate for eggs and chicks in areas where vehicles encroach on their nesting grounds.
