Lakes Rotoaira and Rotopounamu
Lake Rotoaira is in the foreground of this aerial view, with the smaller Rotopounamu behind it, on the slopes of Mt Pīhanga. The forested peaks of Pīhanga, Tīhia and Kākaramea (centre) separate Rotoaira from Lake Taupō. The Tokaanu tunnel, which feeds waters from Rotoaira into the Tokaanu power station, runs under the mountains.
