Battle of Moturoa

The television series The New Zealand Wars describes the unsuccessful attack on 7 November 1868 by George Whitmore’s troops, supported by Whanganui kūpapa (Māori allied with the government) led by Te Keepa Te Rangihiwinui, on the of Tītokowaru at Moturoa, near Waverley.
