Story: Farm mechanisation

Spray dipping

Video file

Trials of ‘spray dipping’ are recorded in this 1946 newsreel. Instead of using traditional dipping to kill external parasites, sheep are thoroughly soaked with a spray from above and below by a motor-operated sprayer. Spray dipping was widely used after the Second World War.
