Radio Waatea is a bilingual radio station that was set up in Auckland in 1999 by the Manukau Urban Māori Authority and Te Whānau o Waipareira Trust. One of its aims is promote Māori language and culture to an urban Māori audience. It broadcasts a range of music, talkback and current events programmes.
