Story: Te tāhere manu – bird catching
Pōhā were containers used to preserve birds in their own fat. This one consists of a kelp bag wrapped in tōtara bark inside a flax basket. Pōhā used to preserve tītī (muttonbirds) were known as pōhā tītī.
