Story: Te mahi kai – food production economics
George French Angas’s picture of a Māori settlement on the Waikato River bank shows a kurī (Polynesian dog) and pup. The kurī was brought to New Zealand by the first Polynesian settlers, and became a valued source of meat and pelts.
