Story: Te Āti Awa of Wellington
The battle of Kūititanga, which took place in 1839, settled the competition for land and resources between Te Āti Awa and Ngāti Raukawa, with a victory for Te Āti Awa. This was foreseen by a priest, Kuku-rarangi. The words of his prophecy are given here.
