Story: Te Āti Awa of Wellington
Awanuiarangi was the ancestor who gave the tribe Te Āti Awa of Wellington its name. He is also an important ancestor for two other related tribes: Te Āti Awa of Taranaki and Ngāti Awa of the Bay of Plenty and Northland.
