Story: Tāwhirimātea – the weather
There are numerous names and traditions relating to the rainbow, commonly known as aniwaniwa or aheahea. Sometimes it was referred to as an atua piko – a curved deity. The personified forms of the rainbow were Kahukura, Uenuku and Haere.
