Broker, 2009

Ken Lister, the Dunedin branch manager of Forsyth Barr, stands in front of the sharebroking firm’s building. By 2009 sharebroking was a very different profession from 40 years before; firms were large and had nationwide branch offices, and the job no longer required shouting bids on the trading floor. It had become highly technical and research-based. Ken Lister managed the advisory team at Forsyth Barr, who did extensive research on firms and business conditions. He had returned to Dunedin after international experience in London and Saudi Arabia.
