Story: Spiders and other arachnids

Nursery-web spider (1st of 3)

Nursery-web spider

An adult female nursery-web spider (Dolomedes minor) creates its distinctive white web, often seen on the tips of low shrubs such as gorse, broom and mānuka. Because they are nocturnal, the spiders can usually only be found by searching with a torch after dark.
