In the 1930s radio stations commonly had popular 'aunts' and 'uncles' as children's show hosts. Many became local celebrities. There was great public interest on 29 January 1930 when Gwen Shepherd, better known as 2YA's 'Aunt Gwen', was married to 'Uncle' Bruce Stennett. The sound clip is a recording made of Aunt Gwen and Uncle Bruce during a visit to Sydney soon after the wedding.
