Story: Davies, Sonja Margaret Loveday

Railway protest, 1955

In Nelson, Sonja Davies became involved in community and political groups, including the Labour Party. In 1955 she was among a group of women who protested against the closure of the Nelson railway by sitting on the tracks at the Kiwi station. She was one of nine women who were arrested and fined.
