Large land snail

Rhytida is a genus of land snail that is widely distributed through New Zealand, and lives mainly on the forest floor. It is one of the larger land snails, with a thin shell reinforced by hard calcareous material. This is Rhytida buddlei, found on the Three Kings Islands.
