Story: Shipping

Contship London

Contship London

Container lines have revolutionised the freight business on land and at sea. Some mega-carriers now offer guaranteed sailing dates and door-to-door delivery. Within these vast entities, shipping lines are often mere ‘brands’. Contship Containerlines Ltd, for example, is part of the giant CP Ships group. Its Contship London can carry 2,200 TEU (twenty-foot equivalent units) and illustrates the modern ‘stack ’em high’ design. The line’s website is written on her hull.
