Story: Shags

Campbell Island shag

Campbell Island shag

The pink foot of this Campbell Island shag leaves no doubt as to its genus. Note also the yellow and red facial skin around the bill. Campbell Island shags often hunt in a pack, fanning out along the water in a line, then beating the surface with their wings before diving.
