Rescue Coordination Centre

Class III rescues are monitored from the operations room at the Rescue Coordination Centre New Zealand (RCCNZ) in Lower Hutt. Set up in 2004, the RCCNZ provides a 24-hour, seven-day service. This ensures that wide area searches within New Zealand’s SAR region are carried out quickly and efficiently.
