Sulfur for fertiliser

Sulfur for fertiliser

This mountain of the yellow mineral sulfur sits at Dunedin’s fertiliser works at Ravensbourne. Only small amounts have been mined in New Zealand, and it is mostly imported. It is used to produce sulfuric acid, which is then used to manufacture the fertiliser superphosphate.
