Toilets are taken out of moulds and stacked to dry, ready for glazing at the Benhar works near Kaitangata, South Otago. The works closed in the 1980s. In its time Benhar was one of New Zealand’s largest ceramic producers and many McSkimming toilets can still be found in older houses throughout the country.
