Story: Rivers
A family of blue ducks (whio) rests on rocks in the Manganui-o-te-ao River in the central North Island. The blue duck is found on a few remote, fast-flowing rivers around New Zealand. Because trout compete with them for insects, blue ducks are now a threatened species.
