Urban rivers (1st of 2)

The gently flowing Avon River is one of the attractions of Christchurch. Rowboats and punts ply its waters, and city dwellers relax on the landscaped banks. Influenced by the city setting, it is quite different in character from wilder rivers in the countryside.
