Queens Park,1953

Invercargill’s Queens Park is an 81-hectare green space in the centre of the city. The path that leads from the main entrance to the band rotunda, known as Coronation Avenue, is lined with English beech and silver birch trees. Queen Elizabeth II attended a civic reception at the band rotunda during her 1953–54 visit to New Zealand.
