Laurenene (2nd of 2)

Laurenene

Laurenene is a compound with a unique chemical structure: four rings sharing a central carbon atom. Similar structures have been synthesised, but laurenene is the only known naturally occurring compound with this chemical structure. It is called a fenestrane (from the Latin word for window), as it resembles a window with four panes.
