Playing at the beach, 2006

By the 21st century, growing concern about the high incidence of skin cancer and the dangers of sunburn encouraged New Zealand parents to protect their children from the sun when at the beach. This youngster on Seatoun Beach in Wellington wears a sun hat and a ‘stinger’ suit and is covered in suncream.
