Portrait of Eruera Maihi Patuone by John Nicol Crombie

John Nicol Crombie took this posed photograph of Nga Puhi leader Eruera Maihi Patuone some time between 1856 and 1862. Crombie noted that when Hare Pomare saw the photograph in London in 1863 he greeted the image of his uncle with a hongi.
