The Haszards’ hen house (3rd of 3)

The Haszards’ hen house

Harry Lundius (left), J. C. Blythe (right) and Clara Haszard sheltered from the eruption in the hen house after the Haszards’ house and the nearby school building collapsed. The hen house was one of the few buildings in Te Wairoa to survive. Thick debris from the eruption can be seen on the roof.
