Soon after the Dictionary of New Zealand biography became available as an online resource, in 2002, some of its staff were recruited to work on Te Ara. They included (from left) Nancy Swarbrick, Shirley Williams, Ross Somerville and Claudia Orange. In 2014 both Swarbrick and Somerville still worked for Te Ara, as managing editor and production manager respectively.
