John Rimmer composing

Although he has written instrumental, choral and orchestra works, about a quarter of John Rimmer's compositions are electroacoustic, and he has received national and international accolades for them. He is shown here at work in the mid-1970s. Appointed to the music department at Auckland University in 1974, he retired in 1999 to devote his full attention to composing.
