John Ritchie, 2011

John Ritchie is pictured at his piano in 2011. He took up a position at Christchurch's Canterbury University music department in 1946, becoming professor in 1962. As a composer he was best known for choral works, concertos, carols, church music and pieces for brass. He was the father of composer Anthony Ritchie.
