Summits for suffrage, 1993

The first major event in women's suffrage centennial year was the 'Summits for Suffrage' project, which encouraged women all over New Zealand to climb to the top of a major hill or mountain on 13 February 1993. Here, Taranaki women celebrate the achievement of climbing to the top of Mt Taranaki (Mt Egmont).
