John Passmore

Australian philosopher John Passmore was professor of philosophy at the University of Otago from 1950 to 1955. He published two books, Ralph Cudworth (1952) and Hume's intentions (1953), while at Otago and worked on what became his major work, A hundred years of philosophy (1957). This examined the major Western philosophical debates of the past century. He was also noted for his work on environmental philosophy.
