Big, Bold and Beautiful aerobics

Big, Bold and Beautiful aerobics

When Janeen Nowicki of Wellington began working as a fitness instructor in the 1980s, no gym would employ her because she weighed 95 kilograms. She started Big, Bold and Beautiful aerobics to cater for larger clients and the concept was so popular that later many gyms followed with programmes targeting larger members. 'There's fat and fit and there's fat and unfit, that's my view,' she said in an interview in 2012. Obesity expert Rachael Taylor agreed that people could be fat and fit, but maintained overweight people were still at greater risk of illnesses such as high cholesterol and diabetes.
