Cribs at Jacks Bay, Otago

This 1964 photograph of idyllic Jacks Bay in the Catlins district, Otago, shows typical cribs (known elsewhere in New Zealand as baches). Small, basic structures, often home-built from scrap materials, they are for many New Zealanders synonymous with holidays.
