Thundercat racing

Competitors get off to a flying start in the second round of the national thundercat racing series at Mt Maunganui, in January 2012. Thundercats are tunnel-hulled inflatable boats with outboard motors. Many of the races are held in areas of surf, with spectacular jumps over waves.
